"When I first joined Victory Sports Performance, I kept it a secret from all my family and friends. I didn't want anyone to know in case I failed. Now I'm ready to shout it from the rooftops! Joining Victory is one of the best decisions I have made. The trainers and staff at Victory have been so friendly and encouraging as they have patiently helped me set goals and map out a plan for success. Now, 3 1/2 months into my program, I have lost over 30 lbs, dropped 3 dress sizes and gained a world of confidence. I feel much better about myself and am encouraged that I can and will reach my goals."
"Rob Oshinskie is not only an expert in the field of sports performance and fitness, he is also and outstanding and entertaining speaker that will leave you inspired and motivated."
"Rob Oshinskie's presentations on Health and Wellness generated more conversation and self reflection than any other speaker ever has. His enthusiasm for the various topics as well as his personal experiences made him a very engaging speaker. His presentation regarding nutrition had a very positive impact on our employees; I still hear people talking about how they have changed their diets based on his presentation. The stretching and exercise program he designed for our employees fit the physical requirements of their jobs perfectly. We have heard from so many of our employees about how much they enjoyed the presentation and how much they have learned from them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with us; it has definitely made an impact with our employees."
"Summer 2007, I had reached a point where previous efforts to lose weight had stalled...
A friend recommended that I try out Victory as a new gym. I met with Rob Oshinskie and we talked about my goals. After meeting with him, I felt for the first time in my life that reaching my goal weight could be realized. Rob assured me if I had the desire and put in the effort, I would be able to reach those goals.
I have been training with Rob for almost five months now and have lost over 55 lbs (100 lbs since I started weight loss over a year ago). The comments that I get from people that have noticed the difference in me are really amazing. This experience has been one of the most challenging and rewarding periods of my life. For the first time in my life I feel that my weight will not be an issue and I can't tell you how amazing that feels.
Rob is an amazing trainer and a great person. The staff at Victory always make you feel at home and I never feel intimidated.
I watched the BIGGEST LOSER on NBC and I feel like I'm getting that experience here, but as Rob puts it, I'm going to be the BIGGEST WINNER in the end!"
"I am an avid blue water sailor, owner of many sailboats and a licensed captain. In 2002 I had the opportunity to apply to crew on the delivery of one of the BT Challenge boats from San Francisco to Plymouth, UK around Cape Horn. The boat was a 67-foot steel hulled cutter-rigged sloop with a suit of 13 sails. It had no roller furling and no electric or hydraulic winches. In the often violent conditions of the Southern Ocean, sails had to be changed frequently, quickly and correctly, then folded on deck and stowed below. The physical demands of the four-month passage would be arduous, to say the least.
I had been a life-long runner and was in good physical condition, but the nature of the work about this ship was unique. It required excellent balance, bursts of intense cardio activity and upper body strength in unusual ranges of motion (e.g. two-handed winching on BIG winches and hoisting very heavy sails up a 90+ foot mast). Steve Jury put together a training program for me specifically designed for the nature of the work I would be required to perform. While I was certainly not the biggest or strongest member of the crew, I was easily the best prepared for the rigors of heavy weather sailing; no aches, pains, strains or injuries. I have Steve and his innovative training methods to thank for preparing me so well for the adventure of a lifetime. Being able to perform reliably in force 12 winds on 70 foot seas was the ultimate reward for all the hard training. It was well worth it!"
I came in to Victory Sports for the first time in January 2009. It had been a long time since I had the desire to stress fitness in my life. After having my initial evaluation, I met Mike Perlozzo who was assigned as my personal trainer. Since I had never done any weight training in my life I was somewhat uncomfortable to say the least. Mike assured me that I would be able to improve my performance and become more comfortable with the equipment.
With Mike's help, I established two major goals with my fitness training. 1.) I wanted to lose weight, and 2.) I wanted to reduce or completely eliminate the medications which I had been taking for the last 15 years. I wasn't sure that either would be accomplished, but with Mike's help, I was certainly determined to try. After a little over one year, I have lost over 75 pounds, and at the last Dr.'s visit I am no longer required to take the medications which I had been taking for so long.
The entire Victory Sports team has helped me accomplish something that I thought wouldn't be possible. I want to take this opportunity to thank Mike Perlozzo and the rest of the Victory Sports team, in helping me accomplish my goals.
In 2001 I was diagnosed with MS, and since then have been using a power wheelchair because of balance and fatigue issues. In the late fall of 2010, with my neurologist's encouragement I started gong to Victory Sports. Because he was recommended by my parents, and had experience working with people with MS, I chose Steve Jury as my personal trainer. Over the past year, Steve has provided excellent personal training, encouragement, and support. Since I started working with him, my balance has improved dramatically, my stamina had increased, and my ability to walk without assistance is returning. I would highly recommend Steve as a personal trainer. He is kind, supportive, flexible, knowledgeable, professional, and a valuable asset to his clients and employer.
Joining Victory and working out with my trainer Steve Jury has enriched my life immeasurably.
I am constantly sore. If I let my aches & pains from working out go away through inactivity, they would quickly be replaced by the pain that goes along with entropy. I'm afraid to stop working out.
I'm not sure I would want to stop working out, ever. The feeling of accomplishment that I get from my workouts is a big motivation in my schedule. I sleep better when I get exercise. I eat better to get through my workouts. I look better and have more energy for the activities that are important to me.
It has been just over a year since joining Victory and being committed to a schedule of regular workouts with Steve. I can't imagine the past year without these efforts. I'm excited to see what the next year brings.
